2016 Season

posted Jan 22, 2016, 9:16 AM by Lostwithiel Museum   [ updated Jan 23, 2016, 2:23 PM ]
Although the Museum has been closed to visitors since late September, the Committee has been busy behind the scenes preparing for the new season. Unlike previous years the exact date for re-opening is still difficult to determine. The repairs to the roof above the Museum office were due to start on 28th September, but the scaffolding was only erected on the 15th January. The time needed to carry out the repairs will depend on the severity of the work to be done and, of course, the vagaries of the weather. During the winter the Museum has been used as a repository for items from the office including a temporary workstation for some of our volunteers. Taking into account all the constraints, it is still our intention to be ready to receive visitors in time for Easter.....fingers crossed !

MUSEUM STEWARDS : As we look ahead to the new season we will be checking that we have sufficient numbers of regular Stewards on duty in the Museum. By the time you read this you may have already been contacted by Maggie Lancaster, our Stewards Organiser, to check on your availability. If you have not previously been a Steward at the Museum and would like to know more about what the role entails, please  contact the museum by email with details of your phone number and  Maggie will get  back to you.

The Museum Committee has a number of ideas to interest and entertain you during 2016 so watch this space for further information.
