The  news that we will not be allowed to move back into the museum office for yet another year [projected to be May 2017] has come as a bitter blow. Our understanding is that it will take that length of time for the listed building to dry out. Whilst absolutely essential, the building repair works to the Guildhall and in particular to the museum office, are having a very serious impact on the day-to-day running of the museum  and  its future development.  We  have been forced to relocate the  the Research Section  from the office to the ground floor of the museum as a temporary Workstation. This  is far from satisfactory and  is causing considerable inconvenience for both volunteers  and visitors.
