A message from our Chairman Christine Walton:

LOOKING BACK: Having just spent an hour or so looking back at previous Museum contributions to this newsletter, I'm struck by how very different life has become since the coronavirus pandemic erupted. It's hard to believe our lives could have changed quite so dramatically in the course of a relatively short period. All those events and activities postponed or cancelled, all that energy and enthusiasm suddenly a part of yesteryear. I'm writing now in mid-September, six months from the start of lockdown. Who knows how much longer we will have to live with this virus? The only certainty is that it is not going to disappear any time soon. Then, we looked forward to life returning to normal, whereas now we talk more realistically about how we can adapt to the 'new normal.' Throughout this strange period I have nevertheless been struck by the many excellent examples of positivity and ingenuity shown by individuals and organisations in their attempts to survive this global epidemic.

LOOKING FORWARD: Though the Museum is closed for the rest of 2020, we are busy behind the scenes planning changes ready for re-opening in 2021. It is important to remain optimistic and resilient, and try to plan accordingly. In the meantime we are developing new ideas for sharing the fascinating stories about Lostwithiel's history.
