: The 'flickering flames' to simulate the fire at Lanhydrock House have been yet another wild success. We hope that the 'burning house' drew your attention to finding out about the history of Lostwithiel's Fire Service & also attracted you into the museum to see Lostwithiel's first fire engine presented by Lord Edgcumbe.

Sincere thanks go to The Children's Clinic for Cornwall for kindly sponsoring the Fire Service Window Display. What's next ? Well, Ronnie Puttock, one of our museum volunteers, has spent the winter compiling a book of local walks. 'Exploring the Lostwithiel Countryside & Walks from Lostwithiel' is now ready for Roy at Palace Printers to produce for the museum to sell. We thank the Duchy Estate for their generous £100 donation towards the printing costs.

Deborah is creating a window display to promote the book so very soon all will be revealed. With our thanks & appreciation to Jeff Pearce from Mellingey Cottage, a local luxury holiday cottage business, for sponsoring this new window display.
