A special thank you to Sam Roberts who has presented two uniform tunics to the Museum. Sam saw 31 years military service from 1947 to 1978, in the Far East and Great Britain, with the Band of the Welsh Guards, and was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal. In a display cabinet in the first room you will see Sam's bright red Home Service uniform (worn for all public duties such as the Trooping of the Colour) which weighs five lbs. Next to it is Sam's No 1 Dress worn in Barracks. Some of you will already be familiar with Sam's fascinating story about how he came to live in Lostwithiel (see Past & Present Vol 10 No 3 in our Research section). Sam has been a dedicated Museum volunteer steward for many years.
