The sudden closure of the Community Centre was a shock - but also a reminder of how fortunate we are to have had such a vital resource in Lostwithiel. Whilst those who attend the various events and groups have been inconvenienced by the ‘temporary’ closure, the real sadness and concern is for the employees and volunteers who work tirelessly to make it all possible. Sadly, it sometimes needs this kind of loss for us to appreciate our good fortune and not take
it for granted. Lostwithiel Museum Association would like to register their grateful thanks to all of you at the Centre for helping to promote the Museum: for including our column in the monthly Lostwithiel Newsletter, for displaying our leaflets in the Information Centre, and for advertising our Town Heritage Walks. Visitors to the town often discover by accident the availability of a Guided Town Walk via the ‘ A -Frame Sign ‘ displayed by the pickup point outside the Community Centre. Even during the current closure staff have made sure that the sign has been put in place for visitors to see. We sincerely hope there will be a positive outcome to the current problems at the Community Centre.
